WHAT WE DO FOR THE WORLD

This is a long term endeavor organized by Bethesda Missions.  The goal is to set up an ongoing medical clinic in Pena Blanca, Honduras—an area deficient in medical services—by January 2013.  A team of 50 people from Vallejo Drive and two other churches will begin constructing the clinic in June 2012, as well as treat an estimated  7000 patients .  Click  here for more information.

During one of his mission trips to Uganda, Pastor Aivars noticed in many homes young children who were not the children of the family living there but who were performing various tasks.  It turned out that these were orphaned children, often of relatives, whom families take in but not as their own children but as servants performing various home chores. Most of these children are AIDS orphans and this is definitely a step up for the child, because the other alternative is remaining on the streets. However, it is still a hopeless situation for the child because these children never get a chance to go to school which means that they will never be able to make a living sufficient to lead a decent life and support their own families.

Out of this dire need a mission project was born.  Now, the Vallejo Drive Church family is helping sponsor seven orphans in Uganda making it possible for them to attend a Christian boarding school. It is so satisfying to know that we can make a world of difference in the lives of these children.  If you would like to become part of this wonderful and fulfilling ministry of changing a life of a child, please contact Pastor Aivars. It only takes $350, which is less than a dollar a day, to cover the full cost of sending one child to boarding school for a whole year

Pastor Aivars also plans annual outreach trips to Uganda to share the good news of Jesus with adults and children.  He takes a team of 10-15 people with him.  Contact him if you want to go on the next trip

The goal of our high school, college and young adult ministry is to raise $ 5000 by December 31, 2012 to dig a new well for a village in a third-world country that does not have access to clean drinking water.  Learn more and donate by visiting the ST4GE Website
